Over the years, crime has become a major issue of public concern. Despite its importance in the public eye, little is understood about the factors that influence crime patterns. The goal of this research was to find out what factors influence crime in the province of Isabela. It used the survey questionnaire to analyze the crimes committed by the accused and their profile variables in terms of age, sex, civil status, educational attainment, and monthly income. The data was analyzed using a simple frequency count, percentage distribution, and chi-square test. Findings of the study concluded that out of 100 respondents, the majority of the accused are males, married, aged 30 and above, who have not entered school and have not finished the elementary level, and very few are at the college level with a monthly income of below P5,000.00.
The study also indicated that the accused's profile and the crime they committed had a substantial association. In view of the findings of the research, it can be concluded that males are more likely to commit crime. Adults until late adulthood are prone to committing crimes. Lower crime rates were associated with respondents who were married and had a high level of education. It is recommended that the same research or more extensive one should be conducted in other provinces or regions of the country to establish the validity and reliability of the conclusion.
