Abstract

If the COVID-19 pandemic has delivered anything to the humanity, it is change. The way things are and the way people look into these have been affected by this change. Different dimensions of society have felt this force and the way to survive this is to have an access to right information. Since face-to-face encounter is discouraged, the social media played a vital role in information dissemination. What could then be disseminated are not only the correct information but as well as its counterfeit; fake news is among these. This has caused faulty reasoning. To combat this inclination, logic as a branch of philosophy can be of help. Logic exposes these kinds of fallacies. This commences a probable cure for a ‘covidized’ reasoning. Following the Platonic route and doing away with shadows and reflections, this paper advances the pragmatic-utilitarian value of philosophy with the purpose of gaining insights for praxis, at least, in the virtual world which can be carried even beyond.
